FHA has released the new 2023 loan limits for this year. Nearly all counties across the nation saw an increase as expected. This is great news for homebuyers utilizing FHA financing as now their borrowing potential is higher.
For 2023, the FHA mortgage limits were set to $472,030 for a 1-unit single-family home. This limit covers 80% of the country. The FHA mortgage limits increase accordingly for multi-unit properties as seen in the chart below.

For high-cost locations, the FHA loan limit was set as high as $1,089,300 for 1-unit single-family home loans. This represents the highest amount that a borrower can get through the FHA loan program. Again, this applies to specific high-cost locations, many in California, New York, South Florida Colorado, Hawaii, etc.
